Jorge Zuazo
In 1993, Jorge Zuazo and Marta Giménez co-founded the fashion brand Giménez & Zuazo, a consolidated company with stores in Barcelona and distribution points around the world. They later created Boba, a new brand where they develop a more relaxed type of clothing, with simpler lines and predominant patterns and colours.
Jorge Zuazo studied fashion at the Instituto Superior de Artes y Técnicas de la Moda in Barcelona and continued his education at the Southampton University majoring in knit fabrics. Back home, he decided together with Marta Giménez —whom he met while studying in Barcelona and jointly presented the final degree project— to create their own label. Since then, he has worked as the company’s creative director, activity combined with his teaching courses at the Instituto Superior de Diseño de Barcelona (IDEP) and clothing design commissioned for specific projects.
Giménez & Zuazo clothes are characterised by an exquisite selection of fabrics and essential shapes which contrast with the originality of details. Simply modifying the neck cut or misplacing a pocket, are little details that crash with the purity of the lines. This creative game distinguishes Giménez& Zuazo garments from the less conceptual and carefree brand Boba. de Whether it’s a woollen skirt from the first label or a simple cotton dress from the second, his designs are addressed to spontaneous and extrovert women who see dressing up as a game, without further transcendentalism. Since the beginning, his collections have been presented at the Gaudí runway in Barcelona and the Cibeles runway in Madrid. In 2006, the brand was granted the Best Fashion Company award by the Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona.
